LaLa

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

This is the other dog of mine at my parents place. We call her LaLa or Jumping (her funny English name). She’s a mix, will be 5 years old on March 8th this year.

I got her from a close friend’s grandma. It was May 20th 2005. She was even more tiny at that time.

LaLa is not very friendly to strangers but she’s really a sweetie to me. She follows me everywhere and she only listens to me. Every morning before I got up I’d play with her in bed and she would be so soft and cute. Mum always says that LaLa thinks I’m her only master no matter how others spoil her. I guess that’s some kind of dog’s loyalty.

Seriously I wish I could take her to Australia. =( It is pretty much impossible. She does not eat any dog food, nor dry food or can meat. If taking her to Australia from China, she will have to stay in Hong Kong for 6 months at the minimum first, have 4 blood tests and then in quarantine in AUS for another one month at least. LaLa will not be able to get through that. She is very stubborn and she eats my mum’s special cooked-food only.

Well, luckily, my parents and my grandpa all love her a lot. They actually spoil her. She will be having a very good life with them. I just cannot imagine what if she thinks I do not want her any more. I am a dog person and I always have this kind of special connection with her. She has been with me the whole time while I have been through a lot of stuff.

Right now she’s sleeping deeply and snoring a lot. Hehe usually I sleep on the left side of the bed and she sleeps right next to my pillow. When I was in Singapore, sometimes I woke up at midnight and found that she was not near my pillow and I got really really sad. I just hope she will live happily and be very healthy.

She’s always the dog that’d lick my tears off, hug me and enjoy some Feist songs with me. No matter what happens, no matter how many dogs Lewi and I will have in the future, she always will have a place in my heart. Just like the day we met, it was sunny, she was tiny, standing next to my friend’s bike, looking at me shyly but happily as well.

Chengdu

I love spicy food. That is a well-known fact. Since I was a kid I’ve been addicted to spicy food like crazy. Life without it? Nightmare!

Lewi loves spicy food. That is a well-known fact as well. And you cannot imagine how happy I was to find out that.

So basically we two are spicy food addicts. Call that a great couple!

Before Lewi met me, he had no idea about Sichuan food. I’m so sad for him. Haha. :P Anyway, as soon as he tried Sichuan food, he fell in love with it.

So what’s a dream place for us to eat? Without any doubt – Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province.

When Lewi was in China in December last year, we went to Chengdu. :D

The first night, we went to Yu Lin Road for Lao Ma Tou Hot Pot. It was soooooo spicy and yummy. It was so freaking cold in Chengdu at night but the hot pot definitely took the coldness away. The best hot pot and also the most spicy hot pot I’ve ever had.

This is Jing Li. It is a Chinese-style and cultural place full of shops, cafes and restaurants. I can’t say that I’m very impressed but it was nice to walk around on a (more…)
